Chicago Magazine has just published a piece identifying Western Springs Illinois as one of the best places to live in Chicago. That is no surprise to any of us who live in the near-western suburbs.

Of the seven separate and distinct neighborhoods which make up Western Springs, everyone has their favorite. However, Field Park is one of those neighborhoods that just has universal appeal.

Field Park Elementary School is located in Field park neighborhood, so it is within walking distance for all of its students. More importantly, the school is awesome. Consistently, Field Park students have amazingly high test scores. And what better way to brag about your little genius than to tout the educational performance of his school? It makes you feel pretty good about paying your real estate tax bill, too.

Field Park is strategically positioned between downtown Western Springs and Bemis Woods Forest Preserve. That means that commuting to work is easy. If you are a train commuter, just walk a few blocks to the Metra station. If you drive, Ogden Avenue is just to the north. Best of all, since the opposite side of Ogden is unpopulated (Forest Preserve), access tends to be lighter as traffic is reduced.

When you see the interior of 3909 Johnson in Western Springs, you will be impressed. It is incredibly well-maintained and clean. And there are four second floor bedrooms.
