How Are Houses Selling in 2009 Versus 2008?
When asked about the briskness of real estate sales in the near western suburbs of Chicago, I am referring to town like Hinsdale, Western Springs, Clarendon Hills, Western Springs and Burr Ridge.
Over the last 30 days, the number of homes sold is definitely over that of last year, although the pricing had been in decline. For example:
- In, Burr Ridge there were 11 homes sold in the past 30 days compared to 2 homes sold over the same period last year. That is an increase of 550%.
- In Clarendon Hills, there were 14 homes sold in the past 30 days compared to 7 last year. That is an increase of 200%.
- In Downers Grove, there were 28 homes sold in the past 30 days compared to 33 houses sold last year over the same period. That is a decrease of 15%.
- In Hinsdale, there were 21 homes sold in the past 30 days compared to 17 houses sold last year over the same period. That is an increase of 124%.
- In LaGrange, there were 11 homes sold in the past 30 days compared to 4 houses sold last year over the same period. That is an increase of 275%.
- In Western Springs, there were 10 homes sold in the past 30 days compared to 5 houses sold last year over the same period. That is an increase of 200%.
