How Does 2008 Real Estate Sales Activity Compare To That Of 2007 Sales Activity?
At the request of a regular real estate blog reader, I am presenting a comparison of 2008 real estate sales activity versus that of 2007. The numbers contained herein are derived from the MLS and reflect the latest 30 days of real estate market activity as of September 8, 2008.
Town #of sold 2008 #of sold 2007 % change
Burr Ridge 8 4 200%
Clarendon Hills 10 8 125%
Downers Grove 44 32 138%
Elmhurst 33 30 110%
Hinsdale 21 15 140%
LaGrange 10 8 125%
Western Springs 10 10 100%
Overall, it appears as if we have experienced a measurable better August than we had in 2007. Marketing times are averaging eight to nine months. Sales-to-list price ratios are averaging in the low to mid 90’s, dependent on the town and price range.
