A fresh, new restaurant concept in the near western suburban's new restaurant row-Clarendon Hills!

The most city-like restaurant in the western suburbs is open for business. Soul restaurant, located at 1 Walker Avenue in Clarendon Hills IL 60514, offers the atmosphere, food quality and service one can never find in the suburbs-until now!

As indicated previously, Soul Restaurant, features food classified as "upscale Amercian comfort food". The only modification I’d make to that is that there is a decided "yuppie Southern" twist to some of the dishes. One of the salads features select cubes of cornbread. The pork chop (called a pork rack) entree is served resting on a pool of cheesy grits. I actually saw okra on the menu-in the suburbs of Chicago!

The Southern spin is a refreshing and welcome approach to the sophisticated, yet informal, dining scene.

The dessert menu is simply off-the-chart excellent. It’s so amazingly creative, I don’t know who comes up with these dessert selections. Take a took for yourself at the Soul restaurant dessert menu. Who has stuffed oatmeal cookies and sassafras ice cream in a root beer float?

Overall, it’s a winner. Soul restaurant offers a city-like experience without leavng the Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills-Oak Brook area. It’s a refreshing concept that was long overdue.

The restaurant opens to the public in late June 2008. Call 630-920-1999 for reservations-before there’s a wait!
