Volare Restaurant in Oak Brook Terrace IL

Good food. Not-so-good acoustics.

Volare restaurant is a recent opening on Meyers Road in Oak Brook Terrace. It’s the second restaurant under this namesake.

The look and feel is that of an old Italian supper club. A unique characteristic of the bar is that the actual bar abuts an outside wall with folding windows. On those six days a year when the weather in Chicago is decent, the folding windows open allowing patrons to belly up to the bar from outside. It’s kind of a cool look which would be even better if you weren’t overlooking a parking lot.

The menu is classic Italian fare. Steaks. Chops. Fresh pastas with multiple sauces. No surprises here. And it’s prepared well, too. Portion sizes are ridiculously large.

Service is good.

The acoustics are not-so-good. I sat in the main dining room against a wall. The ceiling height appears to be over fifteen feet. At a table for four, it was difficult to hear the person across from me. Perhaps the acoustics would be better in the other dining areas.

Because of it’s convenient location in Oak Brook Terrace, Oak Brook, really, Volare restaurant is bound to be successful with the business crowd for both lunch and dinner.

Overall, it’s a good restaurant. However, for the Italian dining dollar, this category is crowded with formidable competition. Consider Tuscany in Oak Brook, Antico Posto in Oak Brook, Capri in Burr Ridge, Maggianos in Oak Brook and Scapa Italian Kitchen in Clarendon Hills
