Soul Restaurant: The Most Anticipated Restaurant Opening In Years For The Western Suburban Area
An American comfort food concept being executed by an all-star team in downtown Clarendon Hills IL

Without a doubt, Soul restaurant is the most anticipated new restaurant opening in Chicago’s suburban market in years. Located in the uber quaint downtown of Clarendon Hills, Soul is being created by celebrity chef Bill Kim (Le Lan), mega-successful restaurateur Howard Davis (Marche, Gioco, Opera, Redlight) and master builder Mike Lindsey (Parkview Custom Homes).
Given that the restaurant is not yet open, there’s no food to taste. However, there’s plenty to look at. This new restaurant is located in a new building, designed specifically for it’s purpose.
This all-star restaurant team has pulled out all the plugs in making a statement with the absolutely knockout level of design and finish in this near western suburban establishment. Without exception, it is the most impressively designed restaurant in the entire west suburban area. It rivals many of the most aesthetically pleasing eateries in downtown Chicago.
It’s a three story building of many interestingly different dining areas. They include open spaces, very private spaces, private dining rooms and even a private banquet space.
The menu is described as upscale American comfort food. I can assure that that I’ll be one of the first to try it.
Soul restaurant is located in downtown Clarendon Hills within feet of the Metra commuter train station. This is a huge benefit to the multitude of foodies who will be drawn to this destination restaurant. In addition to drawing form the immediate western suburban market (Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Downers Grove), this easy and quick train access makes this a convenient destination for other diners as well. Both the Naperville crowd to the west (about 20 minutes) and the Chicago folks to the east (about 25 minutes) have the option of either driving or taking the train. After seeing the wine list, I’d recommend the latter.
The mini restaurant row which is developing in minuscule downtown Clarendon Hills includes Scapa Italian Kitchen and Maejian.
