Top ten reasons why you should consider the near western suburbs*

1. Schools are awesome. Everyone in every neighborhood thinks that they have great schools. We actually do. Check for yourself. Illinois State Board Of Education ISAT scores.

2. Access to Chicago. Okay. You’re moving to Chicago. Does it really make sense to live in a world class metropolitan area where you could have easy access to one of the best cities in the world and instead live in a subdivision on a converted bean field over a hour from the city? In the near western suburbs*, we’re just 30 minutes into the city.

3. Airports. Live in the near western suburbs and have access to both O’Hare and Midway airports in 30 minutes.

4. Commuter train. Why drive when you could read the newspaper or work on your computer on your way to and from work? Give the Metra 30 minutes and you’ll be downtown before you know it.

5. Drive to the city. If you must. 30 minutes in non-rush hour. Anyone’s guess in rush hour. Don’t believe the guy at work from Naperville who tells you he can get into the city on a work day in 30 minutes.

6. Resale of your home. Because of the aforementioned reasons, our resale is great. Typically, the homes cost more, but both the rate of appreciation and the marketing times are more favorable to buyers than other areas

7. Trees. We have beautiful trees. And trees are good for you.

8. Midwestern values. They’re even better for your kids than the trees.

9. Low crime.

10. Sports. We love our sports teams and we have lots of them. Bears. Bulls. Sox. Wolves. Fire. Blackhawks. Cubs. And some minor league teams, too.

Don’t be shy. Come live with us us in the near western suburbs. You’ll come to love our locational convenience. And we’re actually very nice.

*As defined by me, the near western suburbs are: Hinsdale, Western Springs, Clarendon Hills, La Grange, Burr Ridge, Oak Brook, Elmhurst, Willowbrook, Darien, Westmont and Downers Grove.
