Relocating to Chicago? Considering a move to Chicago’s western suburbs? Have you considered Western Springs IL?
Not to consider Western Springs Illinois would be a big mistake
If you are relocating to Chicago and are considering a move to Chicago’s western suburbs, a thoughtful consumer should consider Western Springs IL. Western Springs is located about 20 miles west of Chicago along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (we call it Metra) railway line. By train or car, it’s about a half hour commute into the downtown Chicago employment district. From the point of view of convenience to the city, it cannot be beat. Take a look at this Google Map of Western Springs IL.
The village is relatively small, with a population of about 14,000 people. Because of it’s demographics, it’s easily considered a "yuppie suburb". The practice of tearing down existing homes to make way for new ones is common. The new homes start at about $1,100,000 and go over $2,000,000. Right now, the average asking price for a home in Western Springs is $854,000.
The public schools are of excellent quality. Many families who move here from the city (Chicago) or from out-of-state, choose Western Springs because of the high quality schools. Here’s a breakdown of the schools:
-
Highlands Elementary School, K-8
-
Laidlaw Elementary School, K-5
-
Field Park Elementary School, K-5
-
Forest Hills Elementary School, K-5
-
McClure Jr. High School, 6-8
-
