Relocating To Chicago? Don’t Use The Company’s Realtor!

Why Savvy Relocators Say It's Not In Their Best Interest

You don’t have to accept the relocation company’s realtor.

In many corporate moves, the relocation company has an agreement with a brokerage for services when that relocation company manages a move in a specific area. Given the size of many relocation companies, they usually do not have enough intimacy with a local market to know which agents are good and which are not. A s such, when the relocation coordinator of a local real estate brokerage receives an assignment for an incoming corporate move, the referral may go to whoever is "up". This is real estate jargon for whoever is next in line, regardless of knowledge or experience level.

When you purchase a home, you are making one of the largest financial decisions of your life. Why would you entrust the counsel associated with that decision to anyone other than the most qualified?

Tip: You choose your agent and coordinate that decision with your relocation company so as not to adversely affect your corporate relocation package.
