While the custom varies throughout the country, it is advisable to have a real estate lawyer represent you a as buyer or seller of real estate in the western suburbs of Chicago. This is true of real estate transactions in both Cook and Du Page Counties. Essentially, the transaction is too complex not to have legal representation.

During most residential transactions, there’s an attorney review period during which the attorney for both the buyer and seller may review and modify the contract. Most lay people do not have the expertise to manage this facet alone. When the level of complexity is increased by adding in issues of title insurance, forms of taking title, easements, encroachments, financing, zoning and tax pro-ration, it does not make sense not to have a legal expert in your corner.
